STORY - Roaming Wombat

Dharug is an Indigenous name for wombat. Dharug are known for their slow waddle as they roam through the bush, but don’t be fooled they can run as fast as 40km/hr if needed. Indigenous people have always recognised the important role that Dharug play within Australia’s ecosystems. They dig and scratch which allows water and nutrients to get deep down into soils, and their burrows provide a place for smaller wildlife to escape the danger of bushfires.
