"In most outback towns in Australia, Aboriginal people have never seen the ocean. This painting depicts an artist who came from a coastal tribe and has grown up around the ocean, fishing and swimming. Their totems and people are represented by the blue and green circles.
They journey to the outback and meet people who have never been to the coast. These people and their landscape are represented by the earth and in the ochre circles. The story of Salt Meets Earth describes the relationship and meeting of two tribes, celebrating their differences as well as their unity." - Sheldon Lee
