Our Story

Yarn is a one-stop marketplace who collaborates with First Nations artists to create clothing, homewares and accessories that can be enjoyed by everyone. Our mission is to amplify Indigenous voices, create economic opportunities for artists, and celebrate the beauty of Australia’s First Nations culture with the wider Australian community.

We are not an Indigenous-owned business, but we are deeply committed to reconciliation and cultural appreciation. Our work is rooted in respect, authenticity, and the shared goal of bringing First Nations art into everyday life.

Everything we create features authentic First Nations art that shares a story, pays royalties to the artist, and is ally-friendly.

Supporting First Nations Artists

At Yarn, artists are at the heart of everything we do. Through meaningful collaboration we ensure that every artist is recognised, supported, and empowered to share their art with new audiences. Every sale directly supports the artists through royalties, helping them build sustainable income streams.

Many of our collaborating artists have been with us for years, growing their brands and expanding their reach through our platform. Beyond financial support, we provide artists with exposure, share their stories with their own words and integrity, and never produce anything without the artist approving the design.

Giving Back to Community

Through initiatives, we support Indigenous-led programs, events, and organisations.

Our Impact

Yarn is more than a marketplace – we are a force for change. Beyond royalties to artists, we support community through opportunities like modelling, photography and videography, ambassadorship programs, stock donations, event sponsorship, custom merchandise, fundraising campaigns, and local printing traineeship opportunities. Our campaigns take us across Australia, and wherever possible, we engage local creative talent, ensuring representation and meaningful opportunities at every stage.

Our mission is to foster a greater appreciation for First Nations culture across Australia by creating meaningful opportunities for First Nations artists. Through this platform, more people can access, share, and appreciate their stories and artwork in everyday life.

Every purchase from a Yarn Raise campaign is more than just a product. It’s a contribution to lasting change, delivered in partnership with trusted organisations across Australia.
