Not long after The Kid LAROI announced his first headline world tour, the teenage rapper sensation has made his appearance on the cover of Vogue Australia - just a week ahead of the 64th annual GRAMMYs! In a long-form interview with Vogue Australia for the magazine’s April 2022 issue, The Kid LAROI talked about his world tour, how he’s navigating fame within Hollywood, his musical relationship with Justin Bieber and his Tik Tok star girlfriend Katarina Deme (Vogue Australia, 2022).
To date, LAROI’s 80’s-inspired synthetic-wave song ‘Stay’ feat. Justin Bieber is the track that has put LAROI on the map, having reached 1 billion streams on Spotify, surpassing Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” and “climbing to number one in at least 23 countries including Australia, where it was top of the ARIA singles chart for 17 straight weeks” (Pop Crave, 2022). The song’s incredible success has led to LAROI gaining a GRAMMY nomination this year for the Best New Artist award - a category in which Bieber was also nominated for in 2011. This year, the prestigious GRAMMYs awards ceremony will be held on April 4 (AEST) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

In LAROI’s interview with Vogue Australia, he thanks Justin Bieber for not only being a collaborator, but a friend and mentor whose helped him navigate fame within Hollywood:
"I’m always trying to get some knowledge out of him and he loves it when I ask lots of questions.
"I’m always super grateful that I have somebody like him who has been through what I’m going through—times 10,” he said.
The artist dished to Vogue that he’s excited to be performing his world tour, moving into his new house in Beverly Hills and releasing his official debut album sometime this year - he was very discreet! LAROI ended the interview with a reflection upon his career thus far, saying:
“I get to do what I love and hopefully inspire other kids. That’s the coolest part about being famous or whatever you call it. And sometimes I’ll see videos from when I was 11 or 12 of me rapping and I’ll just be like: ‘What was I doing?’ I was a whole different person. But I look at it and I’m like, man, I did not know what was coming. And the kid in that video would be so hyped if he could see the future. Everything I ever really dreamed about, I’m getting to do.”
