Sheril Cahill & Dale Austin (Kakadu Tiny Tots)
Aboriginal Murrumburr woman & Ngombur man
Sheril is a senior traditional owner of Kakadu National Park. She attributes much of her design work and creativity to this upbringing.Today Sheril resides in Darwin and takes an active role in Kakadu Tiny Tots, her daughter Kylie-Lee has helped realise her dream by creating Kakadu Tiny Tots. Dale learnt traditional stories of his country from his aunties and cousins. Dale sought permission to be able to paint these age old stories in 2010 & has been painting, carving & creating works of art ever since. Dale’s journey now is to gain as much cultural knowledge of the oldest continuing tradition & pass it on to his children before it is lost forever.
