STORY - Puyurru

The site depicted in this painting is Puyurru, located west of Yuendumu. This painting tells the story of water dreaming. Two rainmakers - Jangala men - unleashed a giant storm which filled the usually dry creek beds of this site with water. The long flowing lines of this painting represent 'ngawarra' (flooded waters), while small circles are used to depict the river bed.
