Mary Nampijinpa Nungabar
Aboriginal Pintupi woman
Mary Nampijinpa Nungabar normally resides in Kiwirrkura, in the Gibson Desert of WA, but visits family in Nyirripi. She paints several dreamings given to her by her mother. This includes a snake dreaming from a location west of Kintore, and a dog dreaming of a water hole found below a hill made by two dogs in the Dreaming time. The water is believed to have healing powers and can be found by digging along the stream-bed found at the base of the hill.
