The proud Kamilaroi rapper’s recent GRAMMY nominations for the Best New Artist and Album of the Year (for Bieber’s “Justice” Triple Chucks Deluxe) categories is certainly the icing on the cake of his innumerable achievements in the music industry thus far.

Since our last post following the Kamilaroi rapper’s career, he’s performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival twice - first at the Daytime Stage on September 18th 2021 and second, in the evening set at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. At this weekend-long festival LAROI performed in a line-up artists including Saweetie, Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Nelly and many more (iHeartRadio, 2021).

The Kid LAROI earns coveted position on Forbes’ “30 Under 30” Music Category List and Takes Out Multiple Accolades Across Several Awards Ceremonies

Later that year, the 18-year-old artist earnt a coveted position alongside Disney star Olivia Rodrigo in Forbes’ “30 Under 30” Music industry list. The list (announced in December 2021) was judged by music industry leaders Miley Cyrus, Justin Lubliner, Tayla Parx, and Phil Quist to determine “What the future sounds like and the people making it happen” (Forbes, 2022).

This year alone, the teen phenomenon has received even more accolades, released a new hit single and has sent his fans into a meltdown with the teasing of multiple collaborations for his upcoming debut full-length LP (Long Play) album. In March 2022, the Kamilaroi superstar won the Best Collaboration category for the renowned three-time platinum song ‘Stay’ at the iHeartRadio Music Awards (iHeartRadio, 2022).

The following month, the Aussie rapper released his hit single “Thousand Miles,” which has only been on Billboard’s charts for 2 weeks and was a high ranking debut! Coming as no surprise, the platinum “Stay” song has maintained an incredible 43 weeks (and counting) high up on the charts, currently at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #8 on the Billboard Global 200 charts (Billboard, 2022).

Continuing his good streak, on the 3rd May The Kid LAROI took out the APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) Music Awards trifecta. At the ceremony (recognising talented songwriters and music publishers), LAROI won the Peer-Voted Song of Year for “Stay” and Most Performed Hip Hop / Rap Work for “Without You.” To cap it off, the 2021 APRA Breakthrough Songwriter has been named this year’s APRA Songwriter of the Year! (APRA, 2022).

Although The Kid Laroi (2022) couldn’t attend the awards ceremony in person, he expressed his gratitude and excitement about his return to Oz:

“Thank you for awarding me with Songwriter of the Year. I really appreciate the support and I want to give a quick shout out to fans back home. I’m stoked to be on my way back and I can’t wait to perform the END OF THE WORLD TOUR with you guys. I miss you all and I’ll see you soon.”

Yes, that’s right The Kid LAROI is heading home very shortly to perform his END OF THE WORLD TOUR across Australia very soon! Check out our previous post for more details about his touring dates here.

Keep your Eyes Peeled for The Kid LAROI’s New Album “KIDS ARE GROWING UP”

Last year, at just 18 years old he released a series of hit remixes to his singles with a number of A-list artists across multiple genres, such as Miley Cyrus and Machine Gun Kelly. So, it’s no wonder that he’s sent his fans into a meltdown recently after teasing big collaborations for his long-awaited debut album “KIDS ARE GROWING UP” with rappers Post Malone, Don Toliver, Nardo Wick, Hit-Boy, Fivio Foreign and psychedelic-pop band Tame Impala in a string of posts on his Twitter and Instagram. He's also teased a snippet of a single in the mix called "Guess It's Love" on a recent Instagram post with his girlfriend.
