STORY - Jila Yarraman

When creating this gorgeous design, artist Nathaniel Chapman found there aren't any Indigenous names for seahorses, so he decided to create one. In Walmajarri language ‘jila’ means ‘living water’ and ‘yarraman’ a word that originated from the Yuggera and Wakawaka language groups means ‘a horse’.
