Rendered in cool tones of blue, gentle purples and muted greens, the artwork moves away from the harsh heat often associated with dry spells and instead captures the quiet stillness, fragility, and enduring spirit of Country in waiting. The colours reflect the cool hush of early mornings, dry creeks under moonlight, and the subdued beauty of land stripped back, exposed.

Through flowing lines and layered forms, the work speaks to the ongoing journey of resilience — of both land and people — during prolonged dry seasons. It honours the patience, the still hope, and the knowing that even in times of scarcity, Country continues to breathe and hold memory.
