STORY - Flowers Along The River

Flowers Along The River

This painting was created on the day after I found out I had passed my Clinical Psychology Masters thesis. It was the final project I needed to pass in order to finalise my degree.

As soon as I saw the grade, I felt like I could breathe again. I felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders and like I was finally able to start my path of being a psychologist.

It felt like I was finally blooming. This painting is a reflection of how I felt in that moment, just pure joy.

Other elements of the painting include campsites, rock formations, rivers and desert shrubs. These are all different aspects of country that remind me of Broken Hill and Menindee. Throughout my degree, I would venture home as much as I could in order to stay grounded and psychologically well.
