MEET THE ARTIST

Mary Nampijinpa Nungabar

Aboriginal Pintupi woman

Mary paints several dreamings given to her by her mother. This includes a snake Dreaming from a location west of Kintore, and a dog Dreaming of a water hole found below a hill made by two dogs in the Dreaming time. The water is believed to have healing powers and can be found by digging along the stream-bed found at the base of the hill.
