These vibrant wool runners are perfect hanging on the wall or using as a floor covering. They feature a cotton canvas non-slip backing and hanging sleeve.
They are handcrafted using a technique called Gabba. The ancient technique of chain-stitches a traditional Kashmiri handicraft is important to the local economy. This work is produced in remote villages and provides an important supplementary income between harvests and other rural work.
Please note: This product is handmade so the artwork may differ slightly from the images.

This is an epic Tjukurpa, creation story. A man, Wati Nyiru chases 7 sisters across Australia shaping the land as they went. He wanted to marry the big sister and sang about how much he wanted her. The girls kept running and escaped into the sky becoming the Pleiades constellation, and Wati Nyiru became Orion, forever unable to catch the sisters.

I am delighted with my wool rug runner. The black and white design is most striking and the wool is lovely underfoot. I also love its story and provenance Delivery was fast and super efficient regardless of the fact I live in a rural area
