These vibrant wool rugs can be used as beautiful floor covering or wall hanging. They feature a cotton canvas non-slip backing and hanging sleeve. 

They are handcrafted using a technique called Gabba. The ancient technique of chain-stitches a traditional Kashmiri handicraft is important to the local economy. This work is produced in remote villages and provides an important supplementary income between harvests and other rural work.

Nina Puruntatameri was taught to paint by her father, Romuald Puruntatameri. After school she work with him, painting his spears. In 1993 Nina won the Award for New Medium at the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards in Darwin, providing recognition for her exceptional skills in etching.
