Story: Mina Jukurrpa
This painting shows Mina Mina Jukurrpa, a Dreamtime story. The story contains important information about the different roles that men and women play in Warlpiri culture, particularly in the context of ritual performances. It alludes to an earlier time in which their ritual and social roles were reserved. Women were the ones that controlled sacred objects and weapons which are now exclusively owned by men. The sinuous lines represent snakevine, the circles are desert truffle and the wavy lines are similar to the shapes of the hairstring skirts that the women would wear.
I recently bought one of your beautiful silk shawls. I was so impressed and delighted with the beautiful designs, colours, quality and fabulous fabric that I have bought 3 more!!! Thankyou so much to the wonderful artists and to Yarn. (Also the delivery process was quite fast!)
I bought numerous scarves as presents abs a couple for myself. The artwork is beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderfully large the scarves are. I am considering turning one scarf into a topper( like a poncho)
Excellent service and a beautiful product.
My purchase arrived really quickly and the quality of the Silk Shawl surpassed my expectations. I will definitely be buying more items from Yarn. Delighted.
This is a beautiful shawl which thanks to its delicate feel striking pattern and stunning colours enhances any outfit.
