Story: Flying Ants
Artist: Stewart Jupurrurla Kelly

This painting tells the story of the Flying Ant Dreaming. 'Pampardu' (flying ants) create and live in large earth mounds known as 'Mingkirri.' During the heavy rains, the Mingkirri would get flooded out. So, the ants grew wings and flew off to make new homes. Once they reached their new home, their wings would drop off. To this day, flying ants are still collected, lightly cooked over coals and then eaten.

Will leave the warehouse next business day* subject to seasonal fluctuation.
