These gorgeous leather handbags will brighten up any outfit. They are crafted from hand embroidered leather using a technique called Kashida. Kashida is one of the oldest Kashmiri handicrafts. It is applied to the leather by hand with the help of a small “aari” a hand tool similar to a crochet hook. Originally used to decorate clothing and the famous Kashmiri shawls, and practiced by both men and women, Kashmir produces Kashida of the highest quality. It is an historically important export for Kashmir.

Style: Embroidered Handbag Leather
Materials: leather outer and cotton lining
Washing: mix a solution of warm water and dish soap. Dip and wring out a soft cloth and wipe the exterior surfaces of the bag. Using a clean, damp cloth, wipe off the soap and dry the bag with a towel. The warm, soapy water will help to remove scuffs and water stains.
Dimensions: 30cm (W) x 24cm (H)
Artist: Rosie Ross
The community of Ampilatwatja made a conscious decision not to paint ‘altyerr’ dreaming stories. The artists paint their country where those stories sit. This artwork shows some of the many plants in the landscape. these plants are important for the local people, being useful as medicine, or as food for people or for wildlife.
