This painting tells the story of a group of ancestral 'Karnta' (women), who are a part of the Mina Mina Dreaming story. In the Dreamtime, these women danced at Mina Mina, causing 'Karlangu' (digging sticks to rise up out of the ground. They collected these digging sticks, putting them over their shoulders and travelled far and wide. As they travelled they anointed themselves with 'Minyira' (shiny fat) to increase their ritual powers.
